Friday 25th August 2006: MORE PHOTOS

After our forty minutes with Jesus we were driven to the district of Santa Teresa, the colonial and bohemian part of Rio De Janeiro, (Random Fact: This was also the area where train robber Ronny Biggs hid out for years) to a very famous restaurant that serves typical Brasilian food. The food was excellent and was washed down with some local ice cold beer and was much needed by all as it had been a hot sunny day. After lunch we then caught one of the few remaining working (and ancient!) trams left in Rio. The journey was from Santa Teresa down to 'Centro', the financial and business district of Rio - a short ten minute ride. The tram was absolutely packed and the ride was definitely not a smooth one (at times a little scary especially when going over the bridge!) but it was a great way to end our day of sightseeing in Rio.
