Saturday 7th October 2006: BOLIVIAN SALT FLATS TOUR: Train Cemetery
Our three day tour of the Bolivian Salt Flats began at 10am on this sunny Saturday morning. With the jeep loaded with all we would need for the next few days we headed for our first stop just outside Uyuni to the Train Cemetery which is known as Uyuni's main "attraction"! The cemetery is full of train wrecks from the year 1890 that were used on the train line between Bolivia and Chile, i.e. the slow train to Uyuni. As we're not remotely interested in trains this wasn't exactly a thrilling stop for us but still it is quite unique!
Uyuni's main attraction . . .
. . . The Train Cemetery!
